About the Studio

Located on the 1st-floor the doctor travels to f the legacy wing; this suite serves as the room and office for the property manager and is not typically available for booking. It certainly is not short of history, as with the other rooms and spaces of the property. The previous owner was even born in this room in the early 1940s. No hospital was on the islands until the Outer Banks Hospital was built in the late 20th century.

Like many other remote areas, a travelling doctor or local midwife handled such medical affairs. The Manteo House was a frequent Inn for travelling physicians and pastors. John Wesley was in the Methodism movement and helped found the first Methodist Church in Edenton before he made his way to Manteo and bubuilthis house in 1871.
